Travelling between Portugal, Macau, and the coast of Guangdong, I followed the traces of old commissioners and seafarers from the age of navigation. In a world drifting toward deglobalisation, I photographed shorelines, harbours, and ruins to piece together an imagined island—a space where East and West once met, and where the sea still carries echoes of connection, exile, and return.
